Smile Guardians Protect Kids' Smiles

In America today, many children don’t know what causes dental disease and how they can prevent tooth decay. The result is often a lifetime of poor oral health.

Every child should know how to keep their smiles healthy and have what they need to prevent tooth decay.

Through our Smile Guardian education initiative, donors improve the lives of children by providing Protect Your Smile education resource kits.

We’re celebrating the first year of the Smile Guardian Initiative and what our donors have accomplished. During FY21 Dr. Sam Glick of Cleveland Smile Center, Patterson Dental Supply, and Delta Dental of North Carolina made it possible to distribute 57 Smile Guardian kits to reach 2,850 kids with oral health education.

Kits are distributed to organizations serving at-risk kids including the United Way, Boys and Girls Clubs, YMCA programs, nonprofit dental clinics, and more. The kits include educational activity packets, fun stickers, and dental hygiene products for at-home care.

Together, we can create a future where every child has a healthy smile!

When kids have healthy smiles, they perform better at school, lead healthier lives, have higher self-esteem, and experience more opportunities for future success. Since 2006 our oral health education resources have helped more than 8.8 million kids and their parents learn how to protect their smiles from tooth decay. Become a Smile Guardian to help even more kids in the year to come!
