Millions of children are without access to dental services and face ongoing health consequences as a result, including untreated tooth decay and other, more intensive dental needs. As a resource provider, America’s ToothFairy increases access to oral health care by supporting nonprofit clinics and community partners delivering education, prevention and treatment services for underserved children.
America’s ToothFairy is a nonprofit organization that provides resources to community-based programs delivering dental care and oral health education to children in need. By supporting safety-net clinics, schools, and community partners, we help increase access to care and prevent dental disease among underserved children and families.
Since our founding, we have helped reach millions of children with oral health education and access to care through our network of community-based partners.
In 2000, the Surgeon General issued a national call to action to address the “silent epidemic” of dental disease. Today, pediatric dental disease (severe tooth decay) remains the most prevalent chronic disease affecting children in America.
America's ToothFairy: National Children's Oral Health Foundation (NCOHF) was founded in 2006 as a collaborative effort of clinicians, academicians, corporate leaders and caring individuals to address the children’s oral health crisis.
Today, America’s ToothFairy continues its commitment to improving children’s oral health outcomes by serving as a resource provider to individuals and organizations facilitating oral health prevention and education services, as well as those providing dental treatment, especially to children in underserved populations.
Thanks to the generosity of our donors, we have provided more than $27 million in donated dental products and equipment, educational materials, financial grants and programming to nonprofit dental clinics and community partners. Over 9 million children have received oral health care and education from clinics relying on our support. Since 2014, nearly 2.6 million oral care products have been distributed to families in need thanks to our corporate partners and volunteers participating in our Smile Drive campaign. Overall, more than 15.9 million children, teens, and caregivers have received dental services and/or oral health education with program support from America's ToothFairy.

America’s ToothFairy: National Children’s Oral Health Foundation (NCOHF) is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. The Board of Directors and management of America's ToothFairy is committed to upholding the highest standards of ethical conduct, financial management, and donor stewardship. America’s ToothFairy is a nonprofit organization that provides resources to community-based programs delivering dental care and oral health education to children in need. By supporting safety-net clinics, schools, and community partners, we help increase access to care and prevent dental disease among underserved children and families.
Through these partnerships, millions of children have received oral health education and access to care that supports healthier smiles and brighter futures.
America’s ToothFairy does not provide direct dental care. Instead, we support independently operated nonprofit dental clinics and community programs by providing donated dental supplies, equipment, educational resources, and other support that helps increase access to care for children in underserved communities.
America’s ToothFairy helps children in underserved communities access dental care and oral health education. We also support parents, caregivers, teachers, and health educators with free resources that help children build healthy habits early in life.
Tooth decay is the most common chronic disease in children, but it is largely preventable with education, good habits, and access to care. Early prevention and education can reduce the risk of tooth decay and support a child’s overall health, confidence, and success in school.
America’s ToothFairy is funded through the support of corporate underwriters, sponsors, foundations, and individual donors. Our corporate underwriters cover overhead expenses, which means donations made through this website go directly to support our programs.
America’s ToothFairy does not receive funding from taxpayers or government entities. This funding model helps ensure that private contributions directly support programs that expand access to care and oral health education for children in need.
