Shofu Helps Clinics Expand Access to Care.

In these challenging times when inflation is making it difficult for families to make ends meet, it may be tempting to put dental services off–especially for low-income homes. But thanks to generous donors like Shofu, struggling families across the country have better access to affordable dental care.

Shofu recently donated products to our Dental Resource Program (DRP) members that provide dental care to children who might otherwise have to go without. The donation, which included nearly $100,000 worth of FIT SA Self Adhesive flowable composite and Beautifil Liner, helped 19 safety-net clinics deliver reduced-cost or free care to more kids, especially to those with state-funded coverage and the uninsured.

Staff from Assistance League of San Bernardino in California are grateful to receive donated products from Shofu.

“This donation will help many low income children who do not have dental insurance,” Dr. Alejandra Galindo-Magallanes told us after receiving composite from Shofu. Dr. Galindo provides care at the Assistance League of San Bernardino, where 23.7% of the population lives at the poverty level.

“Our children's dental health programs could not take place without donated equipment and supplies,” she told us. Dr. Galindo looks for the newest forms of treatments and technology to help her provide patients with the best possible care, but new technology can be expensive. Product donations help the organization apply its limited resources to leverage new technologies in order to serve more kids in need.

Apple Tree Dental in Mounds View, Minnesota thank Shofu for their donated products. A total of nearly $100,000 worth of products helped 19 clinics across the United States serve more kids in need.

“84% of our patients are on state-funded health care plans,” said Mary Larkin, Development and Marketing Director of Apple Tree Denta in Mounds View, Minnesota, another DRP member that received composite material from Shofu. “Without support such as this, we would not be able to provide much needed care to our patients.”

All members of our Dental Resource Program are not-for-profit organizations that depend on donations to expand access to dental care. 77% of our members are located in areas that lack enough dental care providers to meet the needs of their communities, where patients often wait a year or more to receive essential care. Donations from companies like Shofu help our members stretch their budgets so that more children in need can access dental care and grow up with healthy smiles.
